Cathedral of the Open Air
Connecting the outdoors and indoors was an important principle in the Kroc Center’s design. The Cathedral of the Open Air, an outdoor amphitheater and public park, took its name from the tradition of Salvation Army officers who preached the Gospel outdoors on the cobblestone sidewalks of London. It will be the perfect setting for springtime music concerts and other performances. When the stage is not in use, it transforms into a shallow reflecting pool with a cascading waterfall for public enjoyment.
